Need help with laptop hdmi to tv

I have a gateway laptop that had been stepped on awhile back which broke the screen. Recently I started using it via hdmi to the tv. It has worked perfectly fine until today. For some reason it won't connect to the tv. I don't know if this has anything to do with it but today all three of my USB ports have stopped working also. If anyone has any idea what is wrong please let me know

If both video output and USB ports are dead, your motherboard is probably toast. Just as a test, can you try plugging in with using a VGA cable to like a monitor or if your TV has a VGA input.
