Need Speaker suggestions?

Desk space is limited but sound on my monitor sucks. I could place a subwoofer on top of my tower though without restricting airflow or having to worry about it getting knocked over. I've got a £100 or so to spend on a decent speaker set. However, there's waaay to many options out there are I'm not really sure what to get? It's pretty much the last thing to complete my setup. Can you guys suggest any good sets of speakers?
