Solved! Need to re-flash older BIOS version on Dell XPS 17-L701X

I recently was given an XPS 17 by a neighbour and i was able to boot from the disc drive, play music CDs, and install a new version of windows. But, as soon as i update the BIOS, the CD drive stops working... In windows, it shows up as a BD Drive but nothing... I put a disc in, it spins two times then stops. I don't know if i need a driver or what but I'm using windows 8 and before i was using windows 7. Any help would be appreciated

Did you install anything that can play bluray if thats that you were doing?? Because I dont think media player can

Yeah i did, but the problem is it doesn't work at all, besides the two spins... Even trying to boot from a windows disk from it, it wont work, just gives me the two spins and then boots into windows 8

did u press a key when it said to. if you didnt it'll boot into windows
