Is it possible to install and run MS visual studio 2008/2010 and Ms SQL server 2005/2008 on any Netbook which has Atom processor?

If yes, which Netbook brand and model do you suggest?

If no, suggest me a good 14’’ Notebook.

It's an Intel Processor, A-32 x86-64 so don't see why not.
Availability:
Atom processors became available to system manufacturers in 2008. Because they are soldered, like northbridges and southbridges, onto a mainboard, Atom processors are not available to home users or system builders as separate processors, although they may be obtained preinstalled on some ITX motherboards. The Diamondville and Pineview[15] Atom is used in the HP Mini Series, aigo MID Asus N10, Lenovo IdeaPad S10, Acer Aspire One & Packard Bell's "dot" (ZG5), recent ASUS Eee PC systems, Sony VAIO M-series, AMtek Elego, Dell Inspiron Mini Series, Gigabyte M912, LG X Series, Samsung NC10, Sylvania g Netbook Meso, Toshiba NB series (100, 200, 205, 255, 300, 500), MSI Wind PC netbooks, RedFox Wizbook 1020i, Sony Vaio X Series, Zenith Z-Book, a range of Aleutia desktops, and the Archos 10.

My friend had brought the netbook and tried to install SQL server in it but he couldn't able to do so. Why?

The system requirement was completely matching with SQL server 2005 hardware requirement but still it wasn't possible to install.

I don't . Hard to solve something when you don't know what the problem is.

Software doesn't install on a "Processor". Your friend had some other issue.
Post on microsoft site to see what they have to say.

During instalation of either of those programs, the installer checks if you have all needed components and does your system meet the required specs. Don't just next on everything that pops out and read what is missing. Install the required component(s) and then install your developer tools.

And yes, a neetbook can run Visual studio and sql server. I have a cooworker that does all his developement on the go on an Asus Eee Pc. It just takes more time to compile and is a little slow, but works...
