New computer to using a TV as monitor, but audio doesn't transfer

I am running an MSI Z87-G41 PC Mate motherboard, an Intel i5 4690k, and an MSI GTX 970 OC. I have an HDMI cable running from the GPU to my tv, and the graphical input is great; however, audio won't transmit.

Does anyone have a solution? I don't know what to do and I have searched the internet already.

You tried right clicking the sound icon in the system tray and choosing playback devices? You can choose to let sound come out of the HDMI.

Also make sure the HDMI port that your plugging into isn't PC only. Sometimes on some models that port even though its HDMI is just video only.

I have solved it. I needed to update my drivers.
