Solved! New Dell Studio XPS 1645, but lags in Rhino 3d Modelling

Dear all,

I have just got my Dell Studio XPS 1645 (Intel Core i7 720QM 500GB/4GB), but it is slow when I rotate/ move/ orbit my model in Rhino 3d. The screen blacks out for 1-2 seconds before it performs the task.

My laptop’s specs are:

Installed Video Memory: 1 GB
Video Chipset: ATI Radeon HD 4670
Hard Drive Capacity: 500 GB
Operating System: Microsoft Windows 7 Home Premium (64 bit)
Processor Speed: 1600

Are there anything I could upgrade to avoid this glitch? I would like to contact DELL on this matter, but I don’t know what is the main problem either should they offer to change anything.

Try updating the graphics chip driver via Dell's support site and see if that helps things.

did that help? im considering a similar build of that laptop and wondering if it is performing well...
