New DVD won't play

New DVD won't play but the bonus material disc does. When I insert the movie disc the screen goes blue and the counter is moving but movie doesn't play. I reported this to Amazon and they sent replacement but the same thing happens. Movie won't play but bonus disc does. Why???

Check with the maker of your DVD player and see if there is a firmware upgrade for it. This happens when a DVD is mastered in a way that your player is not programmed for. The bonus disc is not mastered the same way and so will play fine.
