I've been using and am generally satisfied with my 5-yr-old Lenovo x120e (64-bit). I'm getting (W10) indications that my drive is on its last legs... so after my next back-up, I would like to replace the hard drive. I am looking for recommendations on what specific drive I should look for...

My current is 320GB. SSD vs. HDD? Increase in size? Brand? Thanks in advance for the assistance...

SSD for sure, size does not matter unless you are running out of space.

See how much space you actually use, then you can do one of two things. To save money, get a drive maybe 30-40 GB over your used space. To make swapping drives a bit easier, get a drive same size or larger than the one you have now.

Samsung EVO is generally the go-to brand. http://www.tomshardware.com/reviews/ssd-recommendation-benchmark,3269.html

Maybe this for $110 Adata SP550, pretty big, can be used in another laptop or as an external drive for backups if you replace the laptop it's in.
