New Laptop for college

My current laptop, a Macbook Pro Early 2011, is having problems with its trackpad and so it is time to pickup a new laptop for my first semester in college. I do not plan on doing any gaming on this laptop for I have a desktop for that, and I'm not stuck on just getting a mac, in-fact I think they are overpriced. My price range is $400-$600 for a laptop with preferable windows 10, but not windows 8.

Anyone else, its really hard to school work when your laptop isn't working and you need some help deciding on a new one to get.

Assuming you are only using this laptop for normal things, look into lenovo as they are good for students.
