slot for the egpu

Any of the cheap methods limit the bandwidth on the external video card to the laptop to a PCIe 1x slot, which will limit you to a card in about the 950 range if not slower. You are asking for a high-end solution, which has a corresponding price.

To spend less you can build a desktop for a lot less money, or just get any laptop you want with a mini PCIe slot and the external card, power supply and adapter and live with the bandwidth limit and slower card.

For 1500 you can get a laptop that will run very well in games without an external card.

But that $1500 is only for the laptop, you are not looking at the price for the extra video card or the adapter or the power supply, so your budget for a gaming laptop is really about $1,800 or higher when you add the cost of the other parts.

The 970m ones are right about $1,500, for another $1-200 you can get a 980m video card system which will run games very well.
