New Samsung TV to JBL Sound bar (2013) and Direct TV HD24-500 (2011)

How do I connect a Samsung UN65MU8000 TV (2017) with a JBL Sound bar SB400 (2013) and a Direct TV HD24-500 recorder/receiver (2011) (Direct TV is part of multi-dwelling set up)? The TV is connected to sound bar via optical cable, the TV to Direct TV via HDMI. I checked the sound source via Samsung and everything looks right, but the sound bar loses the sound after about 30 minutes.
What can I do? It's driving me crazy. Thanks in advance...

Your connections are correct since they do work.
Does the sound stop after 30 minutes when you use the TV speakers?
If it does then the DTV box is the problem.
If not connect the optical cable directly to the DTV box.
If the problem persists then the soundbar is the problem.
If not then the TV is the problem.
