Stupidly dropped pretty new Nikon 1 J3 into the street, as it flipped out of my bag.
Now it cannot read the memory card at all, i am painstakingly aware of the handling error blaming only myself i wonder if there is a known way to fix this myself. I have some memory card that has been working before so i know that it is just the reader giving the error & that the cards is ok. Where is it reasonable to assume that the error is - In the reader itself or?

Or a know error because of broken.... whatever that cost plenty to fix?

You're probably wasting your time doing anything beyond checking to make sure the card actually goes all the way down like before. If the card is properly seated and you have issues, it's off to a professional for an estimate (or ebay as scrap and buy a new one)

1) Does the card work in a computer? (laptop with SD or standalone reader)
2) Does another card work in the camera?

If you said yes to the first and no to the second, there might be serious internal damage. Most likely the repair costs will be almost as much as buying a used replacement though, so if you do replace it get a new bag that's actually meant for cameras. Tenba has some awesome ones for mirrorless systems, and you won't have to worry about the camera just slipping out. You might also want to consider an r-strap or something else like it too.

1 Yes the card works in the computer
2 No, no other card work in the camera, although they worked perfect before

I Wonder if there is any way i can see this or test the camera at home

I have an idea of that the reader of SD-Card Locked and Unlocked flip could be injured, always showing an locked card but every visible small little things seems to be working in my amateur eyes. Any other suggestions?

I have tried to clean up any dirt with compressed air...
Checking the mechanisms ..
and tried other card that worked before
