Nikon Coolpix s3100: Need firmware update to charge, can't install because it won't charge.

I downloaded the firmware update for my camera so that I could charge it. However, the battery is completely exhausted and won't turn on long enough for me to update it. Frustrated.

You will need to use a charger for charging your battery. If you don't have one and don't want to buy one you should be able to take your battery to a camera store and they should be able to charge your battery for you. They may charge you a small fee for this service but it will solve your problem. Another option that I recommend is using a universal charger for charging your battery. There are some really good ones out there. The ones we sell allow you to charger AA, AAA, Lithium-ion batteries, and all kinds of USB devices. This way when you travel you only take one charger for charging everything so that you don't leave your charger behind,

Hello, you can also connect whole cable of charger to battery, but , attention.. ! You must connect right polarity , + pole of charger to + pole of battery and - to -... After that , you must charning the battery like that about min 30 -45 min.. I think, that will be better, if you know someone who have mulitmeter for measuring voltage, cor correct finding where is + and - at the power charger cable. After 45 min you have charged battery and you can upgrade your firmare
