I have been reading many of the pervious post related to this error as it has now happened to me. One of the things that I came across that no one seemed to mention is this. If I leave a bootable cd/dvd in the drive, the "Press any key to boot from CD/DVD" message appears. If I let it time out, my laptop will boot into my Windows7 system. I still haven't figured out how to fix it. But I suspect a Bios issue rather than a hard drive issue. Any one else come across this?

Can you get into your bios: Sounds like you're asking if you need to change the boot sequence of your system. But couple of things first? Your saying if you leave the CD/DVD in it the message appear what if you don't leave the disk in does it boot straight into Windows or not. If it boots into Win 7 with no CD in drive this is normal then no need to go into bios.
If you have a bootable disk like a system restore disk in the optical DVD drive this message will appear that's normal.
The fix is not to leave the disk in the drive?
