I have a Dell Inspiron 15 5547 and was working fine until someday it decided to not send power to the hard drive, I guessed the hdd was dead, so I changed it with another one and still, I can't even hear the hdd spinning (I tested both hdd on my desktop and it worked flawlessly).

One day I turned it on and it worked for a few days until it decided to not power the hard drive again.

Eventually you can hear the hdd trying to spin but won't spin, sometimes it does spin but it losses power after a few minutes.

I didn't checked model, but both drives are 2,5" 5400rpm hard drives, one from HGST and another from Hitachi (Not sure).

I tried moving the sata cable around (Unplugged it and plug it several times in several ways but no success).

Pd: This laptop have a cable (It can be unplugged), that goes from the motherboard and ends with a sata connector at the other side.
