No sound on my toshiba satellite A200.

I had to have my laptop wiped to factory settings and now I don't have any sound. When it starts up you can hear a click sound coming from the speakers but nothing else. I have done a test of the speakers and it says it is working correctly. I have also checked the drivers and I have the most current driver for my laptop. I am running Vista on it. Please help!!

I'm running Vista home premium. In the device manager I've got Realtek high definition audio

I'm currently using and typing on a Toshiba A200 1YO, it was updated from vista to windows 7 the original driver had issues and was a Realtek high definition audio. After disabling the realtek driver i install driver high definition audio device version 6.1.7600.16385 but this is a Windows 7 not vista. My audio works fine,. do you have same driver., Just delete the driver and reboot is should install correct version.

Thank you, I will try this. I'm using the 6.0 version, hopefully this will fix it

the latest version of the realtek audio driver from realtek is r2.81 as of 2017/1/13
