No sound when playing a video

I have no sound coming from my speakers when playing a video. I do have sound from the computer (like when I get an email from Outlook). How do I fix this?

I rebooted but this did not fix the problem.
I tried on Chrome and Internet Explorer - no video sound

Is this just for online videos or do you not get any sound if playing a DVD or video file stored on the computer? Have you checked device manager to see if there is a problem with the audio device?
