Not valid nextbook

Next book ares 8. When I powered on it said that my device wasn't valid but would come on in 5 seconds. It has nextbookusa.com on the screen but it's like there's nothing else in it. I bought it new for my son but it was a couple of weeks before he had a chance to use it. He's 7 and didn't know or say anything until I'd lost the receipt and couldn't return it. Does anyone know how to hook it to the computer and force a firmware update or flash a running system to it preferably free.

If you just got it, and it was only a few weeks ago, take it back to the place you bought it from. Receipt or not, they should allow for an exchange not a return. If for some reason they don't, then contact the manufacturer as it is is under warranty.
