Solved! Nvidia shield / Bose - no sound

I have an LG 50PA4500. Using HDMI I have connected an Nvidia Shield. Using the Optocal out cable I connect to Bose cinemate ii and I get no sound. If I use the tv speakers it works fine. I have tried adjusting the various audio settings on the tv, dialsabling the tv speakers and cannot get sound through my Bose system.... Any ideas would be appreciated

Assuming nothing is broken:
1. Sending the audio output to the optical output needs certain settings on the TV.
2. You need to change the audio input source on the Bose cinemate to optical output.
Other than those 2, there are nothing you can usually do
