Solved! Old home theater system with new tv

I have a sony home theater system (dav-dz100) with no HDMI and a newer tv, Not sure how to make the tv sound go through the system.

The only input you have is a L/R analog input. If the TV doesn't have a headphone jack or analog audio output it probably has optical digital audio out. You would need an optical to analog converter to connect the TV to the HTS.

I got a 3.5mm mini-to-RCA stereo audio cable to connect the audio. since it has an audio in (rgb/dvi) plug in. Wondering if that works and if it does how I should even set it up
