I purchased a used Olympus C-3040 for my daughter and she says she is lucky
to get 15 or twenty shots out of a pair of Lithium batteries. Anyone else
experience this?

I assume you are referring to two CRV3 batteries - if so that is
terrible results even if she is using the flash and monitor most of the
time.

I use 4 AA Lithium in a C3030 and get 200 shots per set. Something is
defiantly wrong.

Not necessarily. My first digicam - a Canon Powershot - ATE
expensive lithium batteries. I got the optional rechargeable as soon
as possible.
Some digicams just eat batteries faster than other models.

No $4 to park! No $6 admission!

Good comments about extending battery life. I find the 3040 pretty
good on batteries, actually, and could shoot at least a couple
hundred pics on a single set. She should switch the camera off
when it's going to be more than about 1 minute between shots.
Avoid using the LCD as much as possible, and frame with the
viewfinder instead. I use NiMH, >2000 mAh, and they work fine.
I'd be comfortable going away on holiday with two sets charged,
but would bring the pocket charger just in case.

Ron-

That is the opposite of my experience. Either she got hold of a bad set
of lithiums or the camera has a problem.

I have had my C-3040Z for several years. I had so much trouble with NiMH
batteries going dead from sitting a couple of weeks, I went back to using
the CR-V3 lithium batteries that came with the camera. I don't use that
camera as much any more, but the current set of CR-V3s hasn't gone dead in
the past 2 years, and already has about 50 shots on it.
