Hi, I am using PocketPC 2002 and ActiveSync 3.7.1 on a
Dell Axim PocketPC. The problem is that after the
synchronization between my Windows XP Professional laptop
is completed, Outlook 2003 on my laptop is still running
in the background and I have to go into task manager to
end that instance of Outlook. This happens every time I
connect my Axim to my laptop. Does anybody know if there
is a patch or something that I can apply to correct this
situation?

Thanks in advance!

It's annoying it used to happen with my Palm too. I use a desktop and Laptop
on a WiFi network and use Laplink to sync the Outlook.pst files so I have
the same copy on each PC. The trouble is that if the file is locked out
using Active sync I can't transfer the updated files.

A solution would be nice

I've had this problem for a long time and found an excellent utility called
KnockOut (http://sunflowerhead.com/software/knockout/) which, whilst it
doesn't stop it happening, makes it a very simple job to close Outlook (and
Word) completely.
