Hi there,
I have a similar problem as most of this Notebook users so my question is , Can an adapter ( Charger ) cause an overheating problem if its not an genuine adapter because of not supplying enough with the power the Notebook or is it another problem ?
In normal work or better say in idle my Notebook GT680 R the GPU reach temp. around 75 C but the CPU is around 45 C.
Sometimes after restart everything gets normal then i start the game and after a 15 min of play it began to slow down and not responding good , so in this case i checked the actual temp. then something interesting happened the temp of GPU was around 47-54 C and GPU load was 2 to 7 % but the CPU temp was around 70-85 C and load went up to 100% in all 4 cores.
So i run the GPU and CPU stress test until it restarted and then went "bootmgr is missing " .
So my question is . Can a adapter cause this problem because i also had icon of a battery in 97 % plunged in but not charging or is it a problem with a thermal component or more worse motherboard or some other hardware.

Hello Khazzad

Normally, the power adapter is not responsible for the overheating of the CPU or GPU until there is some faulty component in the motherboard.

Generally the overheating issues are caused either by the viruses or by an incompatible graphics driver. You can try scanning your PC with a strong anti-virus program and if you are unsure about your graphics driver, you can follow this link to download one for your laptop.

If even this doesn't work, you may want to replace the thermal paste on the CPU and GPU of your laptop.

Let me know which solution worked for you. Good Luck!!
