I installed OALD9 on windows 8-64bit and it run properly.
I migrated to windows 10 v1607 and unfortunately it won't open. Actually a blue intro appear a moment and immediately disappears. A lot of videos on YouTube indicate that it can be installed on windows 10. So I conclude it has no problem with windows 10 base. I run compatibility troubleshooter and no difference. What's your comment? Why I can't run it on a very clean windows 10? What windows features must be powered off? what registry code must be changed? Why windows 8.1 run it simply? How can I solve this problem?

I upload a short video on YouTube please check it out:

Solution
Open the properties and see what is listed there.

You can also open the Event Viewer (WIN + R, then type "eventvwr"without the quotes in the Open Box) to see what is being logged when you attempt to open/install the dictionary. You will probably need to search the logs some to find the applicable entries.

Should be a group of entries with some error code or warning regarding the failure. Right click an entry for more details.

WER (Windows Error Reporting).

In all honesty I am not sure how to interpret the results but it does appear to be some problem between Windows 10 and OALD9.

Considered some 32 bit vs 64 bit issue but not sure about that. Do you know which one you installed?

Had to do some research and found this link:

https://oxfordeltdictionaries.zendesk.com/entries/109002576-OALD-9-DVD-doesn-t-launch-on-Windows

Seems to address the problem you are having....

No way to test on my end so read the link carefully before attempting.

I thought, I am a high-knowledge user & I'm better than 99% of people on domestic IT forums or even foreign ones.

BUT today when you wrote this post I deeply realized i'm wrong. When I google this tags "OALD9,windows,launch" together I found your provided link too. Maybe it seems your search is not very special and important work. But consider that I expose my question to discussion with lots of forums and it has been seen 200 times at least and nobody can provide YOUR LINK! It indicate you are different and unique.

How can I thank you enough bro?

• You saved my time
• You saved my suspended English schedules
• You save 15GB of my SSD (from installing Windows 8.1)

I like to appreciate your efforts but I live in a country that doesn't support international credit card like VISA or MASTER CARD . I'm sorry. I really don't know how to express my feelings. I thank you again and again. You solved my problem; You made me happy. I don't know how to compensate.

Still I can't believe I can run it on my windows 10 without problem! God bless you @Ralston18

Thanks so much
Always your apprentice,

It works like a charm. I rarely reply something on internet, but it's really amazing. Thank you very much.
