PAL laserdisc and other questions

Anyone know if I can view a PAL laserdisc in a NTSC player? How do I tell which kind I have?
Also, are they still making laserdiscs?
Any advantage in buying a cable that allows me to connect a laserdisc player to my computer?
(I'm talking about the joystick sized cable that allows a windows machine to control the player)

No.

No, the last US disc was released in 2000 and the last Japanese disc in
2001.
