Now, for the cherry on top, hook up your tricked out gaming rig to that bad-boy (not to mention your Xbox 360, PS3, etc). Oh baby... that would be so sweet!

hopefully the max resolution isn't limited to 1080... or else things will look quite bad at size... you'd have to be very far away from the screen to not see the blocks...

If I really wanted a HUGE TV I would just buy a native 1080p DLP projector. I saw one the other day for $1,200. Then just project it onto a blackout cloth with screen goo painted on it and a black felt edge and you've got a sweet TV that is as big as you want it. Then, if it were me I would use the leftover to buy a computer and a black Nissan 350Z. I'd have a shop install a Vader III widebody kit and a small rear spoiler.

Now that is better use of your money!

I assume the screen is 16:9? If I did my math right, the screen would be 74x41.7

The pixels would be about 1/25 of an inch (both ways) each. It wouldn't look *that* pixelated (playing 1080p, anyway).

A lot of ignorant comments here about resolution and 'zooming'. Larger sized tvs are made for larger view distances. Please don't put down the tv because it's 'just' 1080p, because that is ignorant. It'll be a long time before we have WQXGA (2560x1440) tvs, let alone content at that resolution. Or 4K tvs and content (4096×2304), for that matter.

Great so some dumb mama can strap one on the ceiling of their fat worthless kids bunk bed so he doesn't even have to get up to watch movies or play video games (or live a life).

Except quad HD coming out with 2160p isn't that far away, and then your 85" TV won't look so impressive anymore except for sheer size, much like old SD DLP screens now. Not to mention the Plasma screen will destroy your power bill and need to be recharged periodically as it loses brightness.

I'd rather wait for a better resolution, lower power usage, and more reliable brightness while saving some cash to boot. This is only valid for bragging rights, any only for a little while. $30k to brag? No thanks.
