WTH.... where did Toms get this writer? A Mac is a PC. The word PC stands for personal computer which includes Macintosh, MS Windows, BSD, Solaris and the various flavors of Linix. Technically you could get QNX to work as a "PC" if you could find some sort of office software for it.

The market perception is that they are different due to the historical architectural differences back in their pre-x86 days. This perception is helpful for keeping consumers form mistakenly buying software that is incompatible with their systems enven though the current differences are mostly the OS. There was much confusion surrounding ARM-based Windows RT tablets because consumers thought they were the same as the x86 versions.
