Pavilion dv4t won't turn on?

I have an old Pavilion dv4t-5113 cto. I decided to try and boot it just for fun. When I plug in the ac adapter, the battery light turns on and then begins to flash. When I press the power button, nothing happens except the chipset generates intense heat (near-blistering heat at about 10 seconds) and sometimes the screen turns on plain white. is this a bad motherboard/chipset?

That whole DV series was known for overheating issues and GPU burnout. you would probably need a new MoBo and on an old model like that, probably not worth the trouble.
