PC not recognising speakers

My external speakers have stopped being recognised overnight. I even bought new speakers and they have they same problem. They are Logitech Z200 and connect to the headphone jack.
When I go to the Playback tab in the Sound part of the control panel, the speakers do not appear. I have tried earphones using the same jack on my PC and they work fine. In device manager I don't find any new drivers when I search online for them. Any suggestions would be appreciated.

try reinstalling realteck audio drivers. whe nyou reinstall it make the front and rear output to outputs and not one.

I tried that and the driver reinstalled as "High Definition Audio Device" and didn't fix it.

under audio devices is realteck the output device or is it hdmi?? if it not realteck speakers you wont get any sound.

I reinstalled the Realtek drivers. It looks like this in Device Manager http/puu.sh/BfHrb/651cb67854.jpg I don't see it mentioning output or HDMI.

So it turns out that the headphone jack stopped working completely. I ordered a USB audio adapter to bypass the faulty jack and the speakers work now.
