PDA and Verizon

Hello,
My Droid died and I had to buy a new one - Samsung. According to Verizon rep they are no longer allowing the PDA ap. Bottom line, I'm paying $50/month more for the same access.

Is there any way I can download the PDA ap and get around this charge??

What do you mean by "PDA ap" What are you paying $50 more for? A data plan? You can get a cheap data plan for $15 from Verizon for 200mb, although that can go very fast for an Android. And you need a data plan for a smartphone, I don't know of any carriers that don't have that requirement.
