picture is small

The picture on my mitsubishi tv is only appearing in the left upper corner of the tv. It is a very small picture (but it is a normal picture) the rest of the tv is black. Everything seems to be working fine but I cannot get the entire tv to show a picture no matter what I change. It started last night and I am not sure how it started. Also note: my remote control is broken, it does not allow me to go control panel etc, im only able to control the volume. Can you tell me what I need to do to see my whole TV again? Thank you

it almost sounds like the tv's picture in picture (PIP) mode is set to your current source.

this is normally a remote control option... not sure if its accessible through the tv buttons but you could look.

you might be able to reset everything by unplugging the tv from the wall (when its off of course) and then plugging it back in and turning it on. but i cant guarantee it.
