Pioneer VSX-527 Blown, smoking

I turn it on and sparks come out from the white psu connection. it then smokes.

Its 18 months old and i'm not overly impressed about this! what the hell is wrong.

Are you saying that your PSU blew? Well its not a surprise, it's a no name brand after all

Sorry mate, well somethings blown inside not sure what it is, it is a white connector I assume is going into the PSU that sparks then smokes

Get a decent PSU

Yeah, Pioneer isnt known for PSU's. I would recommend a good Corsair or Seasonic PSU.

Some advice, stop attempting to power up your PC with that PSU, you could damage a component.

Sweet Jesus, you are right! I need sleep.

OP needs to replace the whole thing. Not sure if its covered by warranty, but take it back for exchange at original point of sale if you can.

This is the thing, the thing has just gone to 15 months of age, the warranty is 12. So technically out of warranty...but do Pioneer an established brand really feel this is acceptable?

I think im going to find that out 😉
