Solved! Play audio from hdmi through external speaker

I recently bought a 32 inch monitor to use as a small tv in my room but the monitor doesnt have an auxiliary output. Was wondering if there is a way to connect the monitor to an external speaker to play audio that is coming into it through my chromecast

Well, it has to have SOME kind of audio output, whether analog or digital. With digital, u may have to add a DtoA converter, not expensive.

The monitor itself has only 3 inputs on the entire device. Hdmi, VGA, and power. Chromecast is currently plugged into hdmi and VGA is unused. I tried to route audio from my phone to a speaker and only stream the phone screen but it seems chromecast doesnt like that.

Just bought a hdmi female to VGA male with auxiliary output adapter
