Solved! Please help me choose between these two laptops for video/photo editing.

Good evening!

I've been told that I'll need a quad core i5 or higher laptop with 8GB ram or higher if I want to edit photos and videos. I would be using Photoshop and Sony Vegas (but wouldn't be dealing with any large/4K files).

While I don't understand computer specs at all, I found these two laptops which seemed to fit the above guidelines and thought I'd run them past some people in the know.

Which one of these is better? Are these good for the money or is there better stuff out there? Do I even need a quad core laptop if I'm just making videos which mainly consist of pictures with voice over them?

The upper end of my budget is £600, but if I could get something for £500 I'd be happy.

Appreciate the response! Would you say that is a good deal? And do you think quad core is necessary for what I intend to do? For reference, these are the Sony Vegas (what I'd use to edit) recommended specs - http://www.vegascreativesoftware.com/gb/vegas-pro/specifications/ If you could take a quick look I'd be grateful.
