POP feature doesnt work with cable box

Own a toshiba 65H82 Projection TV and can't use the POP (split screen/duel channell watching) feature with my cable box? I use Bresnan which is like a direct tv or others. How can I use this feature with a cable box and if not what was the point of this feature? Thanks

You cannot use this feature to see two channels from one cable box since it can only output one channel at a time. You could use it to see one cable channel and one over the air channel or any other source. You could use two cable boxes if it was important enough to pay for two.
