Question port extenders help

i have the hp elitebook 745 and it has a port extender port on the right side but i have a small work center next to the kitchen table and i have a spot smaller than a mouse pad fo the mouse. i also now use a monitor as the laptop screen is just to small for my ole eyes anymore. so now i have the lan port the hdmi port and if i need to use the usb port on that side i get just about the size of my hand for room. so i'm looking for some type of port extender that will plug into the usb-c port that is up by the screen hinge and power port so that will give me that extra room the plugs now take up.

my laptop has these ports now (1) USB Type-C (Alt Mode) (2) USB 3.1 Gen 1 (1 Charging) (1) HDMI 2.0 (1) RJ-45/Ethernet port (1) Headphone/microphone combo jack (1) AC power port.
the usb-c port seem to be one that has this symbol on it. https://i.ebayimg.com/images/g/JjoAAOSwEBhlXo5c/s-l1600.jpg see the usb-c port. i do have a smaller usb-c port extender that will run a vga monitor and has 1 usb 3.0 port but no hdmi port that i need for this monitor.

i'm looking at these 2 port extenders can anyone tell me if either one will work for my pc? thanks
