port forwarding works on one computer but not the other

okay so i have 2 desktops connected to the internet via an ethernet switch, one of them can port forward fine but the other cannot. when i use an online port checker or try to connect to it from another pc it doesnt work but when i use a port checking application it says the port is open.

Can you explain in more detail? Port forwarding is a function of your router, not the individual computers.

if i forward the ports to one of my computers it works fine but when i try on the other computer it doesnt work

Check that you have an application on that computer listening on the port you are trying to forward and that there is no firewall on it blocking that port.
