I need a portable laptop that hopefully comes pre-installed with Microsoft Office for school work, but it's not absolutely necessary. It needs to be relatively lightweight, and able to run some games (on Steam, and some various MMOs) without any lag. I'm not picky with the processor, but I assume it has to be decent to run games. Any price range is okay, although preferably under/around 1k.

Solution
Look into HP's ProBook 455 G1. While not a 'gaming' laptop per se, it can be configured with A10 plus 8750m which will perform nicely in games. The reasons I recommend this specific system are:

1. Ultrabook-esque battery life, 6 hours-ish low usage
2. Disc drive, easier to install MS Office.
