Portege M400 Boot Password

My laptop asked for a password when i turned on yesterday and i cant boot without it. I never had to type a password before. I called Toshiba repair service and they told me it would cost 170 dollars to fix. Ive already tried removing the cmos battery for a few days and i cant seem to find the cmos jumper. Any help would be appreciated.

Removing the battery won't help. As Brett said, we can't help you bypass security features

Even if Its not my password? I am the original owner of the laptop and I did not set a password. I did read elsewhere that toshiba did have the same problem with other versions.
