Power adapter green light on initially then turns off, this only happens at my daughter's house in all sockets, yet it is fine

Could be a problem with the power grid in your daughter's house. The nominal grid voltage in your country is 110V AC? What is the input voltage range of the adapter (it says on it's sticker)? Many adapters are not designed to work under 100V AC input.

If power grid voltage is lower than that, the adapter won't work. You would need a multimeter in order to be able to check the voltage.
