Hello everyone,

I just got a used Casio Cassiopeia E-200. Now I am trying to install it
using Windows 2000.
The problem I have is that the accumulator/battery is not loaded, empty.
But the installation/detection program seems to need a fully functional
E-200.
So my question is either:
- is it possible to somehow install the E-200 unpowered?
- or does the battery of the E-200 charge while it's in the USB cradle even
if it isn't installed on the computer?

Thank you very much in advance!
Regards,
johannes

IIRC.. You should have a separate power adapter that plugs into the
cradle or the e200 for charging the battery. I don't think the usb
connection will charge the battery. The unit must be charged or have
external power to install/sync.

Since I got the device from a flea market unfortunately I do not have a
separate power adapter. According to the manual
(http://ftp.casio.co.jp/pub/world_manual/ce/en/e200/e200hwe.pdf, page 18)
though the battery pack charges while on the cradle (sorry if I was unclear
in the first message that I have the cradle, not just the USB cable).

well I'll try to just let the e-200 sit in the cradle for some hours,
perhaps it charges.

Thank you for your answer so far!

It does charge while in the cradle IF the separate charger is plugged into the
back of the cradle. It won't charge from the USB - you have to have the
separate charger. The USB is only for synching. The charger output is 5.4v DC
2.41 A, neg ground.
