Problem with CD Clock Radio Playing CD

Hello. I have a GPX CRCD6306DT CD Clock Radio that is not playing any CDs. When I put the CD into the drive, it will spin and load as if it was going to play, but then there is no sound. I know that the speakers work because they work fine when I turn on the radio. I've taken apart the radio to try to see if I could fix it by checking for loose wires and leaky capacitors, but I see nothing visibly wrong. I would greatly appreciate any help, thanks!

are you using offically created music cds or ones that you burned yourself?

if you burned them yourself, its likely that its not in a supported format.
if its official cds then check if the lens is dirty. if its not it could be hardware failure.

I am using officially created CDs from artists. I've tried cleaning the lens, and it recognizes the disk but won't play any audio.

The CD transport of this type of unit is always the most likely to fail. Usually there is no out of warranty support and if there were the price would be too high to be reasonable to repair.

I want to repair this myself, so the price to get it repaired is not an issue. I just want to know what part could be malfunctioning.
