Im currently using the Sony MDR-1A, and have them usually plugged into my Razer Blackwidow chroma's jacks.. but after encountering the problem with the mic, i tried plugging my headsets into the back of my cpu too but nothing works 
My computer details:
Processor Intel(R) Core(TM) i7-6700 CPU @ 3.40GHz
Video Card NVIDIA GeForce GTX 960
RAM 16 GB
Operating System Microsoft Windows 8 Professional Edition (build 9200), 64-bit
Sound:
Audio 1
Sound Device Realtek High Definition Audio
Driver 6.0.1.7553
Audio 2
Sound Device NVIDIA Virtual Audio Device (Wave Extensible) (WDM)

Sound Device NVIDIA High Definition Audio

I only got the microphone to work around 1/2 days before it just stopped working, i tried it using my phone and the mic is still working, just not on my pc.
Under PLAYBACK DEVICES, it has 'SPEAKERS' and 'Realtek HD Audio 2nd Output',
my headset plays under 'SPEAKERS' and no sound is generated when i click to test the 'Realtek HD Audio 2nd Output'.

Under RECORDING,
theres both the 'microphone' and 'stereo mix', i tried setting both and default comm devices before but the mic is still not working.
The 'Line in' states 'not plugged in' (IMAGE ABOVE)
I had my realtek HD Audio Manager updated to the latest version too.

As you can see the 2nd Audio output is still there but it still generates no sound at all. My sound is still generated through 'Speakers'
How should i go around retasking my headsets? I know im able to retask it using the back panel/front panel settings, what should i retask it as? these are the settings it has now.
