Problems 3.5 mm jack in Acer Aspire E 15

Hey, i have an Acer Aspire E 15(ES1-512-P6EL) that only has 1 jack, so i bought a twin connector, and i can use either a microphone, or a headphone.
My question is if it is possible to use both at the same time.

I got the same problem, and bought a splitter cable but it still didnt detect any external mic. So I tried reinstalling the sound drivers but still no external mic detected, and the built in mic on the Aspire E15 is just horrible. Need help!
