Problems with Asus laptop Trackpoint not working

I have a ASUS F556UA-AS54 laptop that kept crashing so decided to do a clean install of windows 10. After installing, the trackpoint does not operate. I can plug a logitech usb wireless mouse in to navigate but can't find any way to get the trackpoint to work.

I thought it should work during the windows install as well but didn't.

I also noticed the wireless network icon does not show up in the bottom left for you to select a wireless network.

Open to any suggestions.

the drivers need to be downloaded and installed from the manufacturers website.
windows ships with a lot of drivers and supports myriad hardware out of the box, but not everything.
