Hello,

Can I use the Video component inputs on the back of this receiver as Audio inputs? The Owner's Manual states these jacks are for any line level signal source such as the decoded signal from a digital audio disk player.

I'm trying to connect the component audio from my cable box to the receiver and play the audio thru my speakers.

Thanks,

Gary

You cannot use video inputs for audio. There should be a pair of audio inputs that are associated with the video inputs. If you have any audio inputs that are not in use (except those labeled phono) you can use those. The label (ie tape, aux, cd) does not matter.

Hmmm, I went back and connected the component audio cable from the back of the cable box to the Tape play (nor rec) input jacks on the receiver. No sound. The only way I get sound out to the speakers (and mysteriously, it's only the left speaker) is using the video input jacks.

Ideas?
