Ps4 TV Soundbar.

I'm having trouble getting a full surround signal from my ps4 to my Soundbar via my Samsung TV. Ps4 connected to TV via HDMI, TV connected to Sound Bar via optical connection, but can not get full digital signal to pass through to sound bar, only PCM available to sound bar. How do I you solve this??

I have connected my PS4 to my Samsung Smart TV via HDMI. Works fine. I have connected my TV to my Philips Soundbar via an optical connection. But I cannot receive a Dolby Digitd or DTS signal from my TV when in putting from the ps4. Why?
Basically I want to watch a movie played from the Ps4 and enjoy the full sound experience from the sound bar without having to disconnect it from the TV and connect directly to the ps4. Any ideas?

Either a setting on the tv is not quite right or it's the sound settings on the ps4.
I assume that the sound from the tv is coming through the sound bar but when you change to the playstation it's just through the tv own speakers?

Just looked at my tv and ps3/4 setup with regards to the sound system and seemed to have the same issue.

On my sony tv I needed to change the setting to audio system ( instead of tv speakers) and on the playstation to auto instead of hdmi...hopefully yours may be the same or similar
