Question on Samsung SIR-TS360

I've brought home a Samsung SIR-TS360 to evaluate.

There are some annoying quirks, but the worst of all is the blinking
on and off when I change from one digital off the air signal to
another.

Here's what happens. Say I'm looking at an off the air signal. I
channel change to a digital off the air signal (no matter how strong
or weak the signal is) and the damned thing will come on for a part of
a second with audio and video, blank, come on again for a part of a
second, then off again, then finally on. This makes changed from one
channel to another particularly bothersome.

I can't find any settings that might pertain to blanking or someting
that might fix this.

Has anyone else with this unit seen the same problem?

Does it annoy you, too, or is it just me? Seems like if the unit
grabs the signal and starts to display the video and output the audio,
that it should stay on, not flicker a few times. Jeez.

I'd appreciate comments, or better yet, a fix!

So, before I take it back or try calling the tech support line (have
you had any experience there?) you DO NOT have the on-off-on-off-on
sequence over a second and a half or so, right?

Thanks for taking the time to reply to my original post.

The on-off-on audio/video & signal strength meter problems has been reported
by thousands of 360 users.
The models after April 2004 seem to have less problems.
DirecTV has had to replace a great many of them.
Mine has the same problems, but I am waiting for a model fix before raising
HELL with them for a replacement. Some guys have had 3 or 4 360
replacements & still have the problem.

With the FCC mandate looming the price of these boxes is likely to drop
like a paralyzed falcon. Note that the SIR-TS360 is selling for about
half of what the SIR-TS160 sold for just a few months ago.

No I haven't had the audio problem. Nor have I had occassion to speak with
Samsung CS. I did call DTV CS about the unit at one time and they were no
Help they told me i had a defective rec. and to send it back for a
replacement. (I bought it through DTV) When all it was was the wrong source
selected. (I had no audio or video, but i had DVI slected as the source
instead of ant/sat). There have been people who have experienced video and
audio drop outs though check out the sammy 360 thread at
