I have two Kingston 120gb 300v SSD's sitting around, and I had the crazy idea that maybe I could put both of them in my Dell e6400 laptop. Now, the laptop only has one SATA hdd "port" but is there somewhere where I could buy another and upgrade it to two, or do something of the sort? Could I remove a card reader or the disk drive and store another there? Would something like this be possible, and would it, in theory, improve noticeably on laptop speed?
Specs:
Core duo 2 @ 2.8ghz
4gb ram
Intel gm45 graphics

You can take the optical drive out and fit a caddy in there. With that you can install the SSD to the optical bay. Chances are the optical drive sata port is not sata 3, but you'll still see a performance boost with the SSD. Whether your laptop supports RAID or not is outside of my scope of knowledge, though.

You may be able to find cheaper caddies, but this is more or less what you need: http://www.newmodeus.com/shop/index.php?main_page=product_info&cPath=2_3&products_id=224
No there is no way to do this with any off the shelf product.

Also SSD raids do not offer the same level of a bump that HDD raids do. Not to metnion that SSDs are less reliable then HDD, so in RAID0 seems like data loss waiting to happen.

You would get a better performance improvement, without messing about, by replacing the SSD with a single one of larger capacity.
