Has anyone had any issues with the 50 inch (or other size) RCA Scenium
audio issues, namely small popping sounds or an occasional tinny sound
that comes and goes? The unit is 3 months old and covered by warranty
but it'll be 2 days before I can call to arrange service and prior to
that I thought I'd see if this was something others have experienced.
I've elimated the external sound system and cable TV as the source.

Thx,
Max

Seen a few of these hooked to either digital or HD catv boxes exhibit
strange audio symptoms, however not do it when using the vcr or dvd hookup
(component + composite) nor via RF? Normally swapping out the CATV box and
changing the compression ratio via the CATV box menu seemed to mitigate the
satiations.

Max,

No issues on the audio (or video) on my RCA Scenium 50''. The sound comes
through crystal clear with no distortion. I'd certainly have the unit
checked.

Thanks, I will. It doesn't happen often but is very noticeable when
it does. It can occur with cable or DVD input thus eliminating the
cable provider as the source of the problem. When the small popping
noises are heard, shutting everything else down does not make them
stop also pointing to the TV as the culprit. Will call the service
people tomorrow.

I've had the same problem with mine. It has done the popping twice and the
tinny sound 3 times since I got it on December 17. (My Scenium is a model
HD50LPW165 and was manufactured in December)

Please let me know if the service techs can fix the problem.

FWIW - I downloaded a software upgrade yesterday (rev.A6.oc) and do not know
the purpose of the upgrade.

Greg

Mine is the HD50LPW162 manufactured in September. This morning it
started popping away for about 15 minutes, then stopped.

Will do. If your email is valid I will contact you today.

I wasn't aware the consumer could do upgrades. Will check on that.
Thanks for your response.
